Call for abstracts: 1st DESIS User Workshop, 29 September – 1 October 2021
Our colleagues at the German Space Agency (DLR) are hosting the first DESIS User Workshop to “to provide a platform for discussion and knowledge exchange related to spaceborne imaging spectroscopy with a focus on DESIS mounted on MUSES/ISS. NASA ESD Decadal Survey Community Forum
The NASA Earth Science Division is hosting a Decadal Survey Community Forum to “provide an update on the strategic implementation of the 2017 ESAS, with particular emphasis on the “new” program element identified as the Designated Observables (DOs). ESD is seeking new ways to leverage the work and ideas in the non-governmental/private sector to contribute possible approaches that may address the designated observables recommendations in the 2017 ESAS in order to increase mission/observing system capability and/or to reduce costs.”

Community Webinar on SBG Architecture Recommendations to NASA Headquarters
This webinar will begin with a review of the science and applications metrics used to score architectures to be followed by a presentation of the recommended options, a preferred option, and two high-value alternates. The SBG team will review the process for community feedback, and NASA HQ staff, including Charles Webb, Associate Director for Flight Programs, Earth Science Division, who will discuss the next steps, leading to a decision.

Community Webinar on SBG Architecture Recommendations to NASA Headquarters
The SBG team invites the science, applications and space-science communities to a continuing series of webinars to engage with progress and recommended architectures for community input. The next webinar will be on the 27th of May at 1:00 PM EDT (1500 UTC) and will present, first the science and application guidance used by the architecture teams, and second, the process and status of the architecture activity, as it nears a final set of recommended architectures.
