The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is planning for the development or procurement of the SBG wide-swath visible-to-shortwave infrared (VSWIR) imaging spectrometer and thermal infrared (TIR) instruments for a spaceflight application.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is planning for the development or procurement of the SBG wide-swath visible-to-shortwave infrared (VSWIR) imaging spectrometer and thermal infrared (TIR) instruments for a spaceflight application. The purpose of these requests is to help inform the SBG Team in preparation for the Pre-Acquisition Strategy Meeting with NASA Headquarters and Earth Science Division (ESD) being held in late Summer 2021.

A third RFI solicits information on:

  1. Data from a small satellite constellation, operational or in development
  2. Information on data or a concept for a compact instrument (operational or in development) that would complement the wideswath SBG VSWIR-IS/TIR constellation
  3. Information on a concept for a new VSWIR-IS instrument where multiple copies can be manifested on a number of small satellites in a possible future constellation
